What can I do to improve my children’s reading?

For a child to be able to read, he must be exposed to books as much as possible. In fact, a child who reads easily is the one who is frequently read to. So what do we do dear parents? Take them to the library and read to them once a week? Honestly, is that good enough?

3 things to do to make sure your kids are well read even before they reach primary school:

  1. Schedule a reading time together as a family as one of your daily activity. Go on. Place a mat on the floor and take turns to read each other a book. The bigger it is, the better!
  2. Read each other bedtime stories. It is ok that your child is just making it up as he turns the pages of the book.
  3. The “snuggle” factor. Click here for more information.
